Our Facility

Our purpose-built facility was designed for the safety of our staff and animals, while providing a comfortable atmosphere for our veterinary patients.

Safety

Our facility was designed in close collaboration with health physicists to minimize staff radiation exposure while providing precise dose measurements and health monitoring for your pet.  Lead-lined walls, portable shielding and specialized equipment create an optimal environment for nuclear therapy.

Our kennels are designed to be safe and very secure, and multiple locked doors stand between our furry guests and a getaway. Food, water and litter box measurements are made daily and video monitoring allows us to have eyes on the cats without additional radiation exposure.

Due to the radiation safety training and monitoring needed to work inside the facility, visitors are not allowed to enter per state and federal law.

Safety

Our hot lab equipment is calibrated, tested and maintained to meet the requirements of all nuclear medicine equipment found in modern hospitals.  Our radiation safety program is designed to protect the animals in our care, the employees of our facility, and the surrounding countryside.

Comfort

Our isolation facility is furnished with individual cat cabins that provide separate spaces for sleeping, eating and using the litter box.  Soothing music plays throughout the day, and cats are able to view the outdoors.

Because some of our guests stay for an extended period of time, we provide a relaxing and secure environment with everything they could possibly need.  Our staff provides food, water and treats as well as clean litter boxes on a regular schedule.  A high-resolution video monitoring system is utilized to maximize observation while reducing staff radiation exposure time.

Any health concerns are addressed promptly by our veterinarians and communicated to you.
